The Portrait procedure begins with an initial discussion and exchange of ideas.
Next, a photo shoot is scheduled at your home, Valerie’s studio or a favorite location. Valerie is also willing to work with existing photos if the quality is sufficient. Working with your photos is useful if a posthumous portrait is to be created or if the painting is a surprise gift.
Once compiled, elements of various photos are combined and reworked in Photoshop to create an image that is completely unique. Dramatic landscapes, flowing drapery and items of personal significance to you can be added at this stage, to create a more “enchanted image” if desired.
A “photo sketch” is then created to approximate the final outlook of the painting. Upon your approval, the image is transferred to canvas and the final painting begins. At this time an approximate completion date is determined.
When completed, your heirloom portrait can be framed by Valerie, at an additional cost, if you wish.
